2026 Petition Season Is Officially In The Books, Literally! 🙌🏼

Thank you to everyone who circulated and submitted petitions. They will be filed this week. A truly incredible effort in support of some incredible candidates. HDC had 58 committee members carry petitions (78%)!

Special thanks to our top signature gatherers: Lisa Poch, Kathleen King, Cathy Brozyna, Holly Park, Mike Amodeo, and Jackie Andula, as well as Joel Little, Siobhan Dougherty, and Kam Wood, who gathered hundreds of signatures throughout the county.

After turning in petitions, they make their way to the Erie County Democratic Committee (ECDC) and are combined with the candidate petition sheets from other Towns and Cities. Each page of a petition, tens of thousands of pieces of paper, is reviewed 3 times, scanned, numbered, and bound by volunteers and ECDC staff, before being filed with the Board of Elections. It's a huuuuge operation!
